| Sing it to the Rhythm is a music project which explores Afro-Caribbean history though folk songs, stories and historical context. Since 2003 we have delivered workshops within Primary & Secondary education and with community projects across London and Nationally. |
| Through the Sing it to the Rhythm performances and workshops, the historical songs are rare blues, Field and Work songs, Children’s Game songs (Ring tunes) and dance songs from the Caribbean and Deep South USA late 19th Century into Mid 20th Century. |
This is an excellent way to engage youngsters in learning about our diverse Caribbean and European history.
The material enables creativity through singing, playing rhythms, creative writing, discussion and listening. |
